“The man is a crazy species, that started being crazy, and because of that it manages to be or could be rational”
Cornelius Castoradie.
As written in her grad project, our illustrator and friend say:
The spaces, in which human beings have settled during life, tend to construct the way they can be used, because society molds how they should be used.
Duty and power, words from an artificial being, resumed to the routine of space. As rigid and limiting beings, we construct for a user that doesn’t fit its craziness, this defines human beings of the XXI century.
Projecting a habitable space just embraces the word habitat, as a way of living, but it’s as just like looking through one eye while covering the other with a patch and with the hand when we don’t decide to close it. Sight, shortsighted, a little sight but no vision.
Mutant Thought
Change is quick on thoughts, leading to a change of emotions, which quickly changes a point of view. The description of space of the XXI century, without knowing its habitant is like a canvas: not because its empty, white or square: is because its ready to be worked on, to start on a process of seeking the perfect piece that is a space for its habitant.
Collective Individual
The vision of a lone wolf is no longer, now it’s all about individuals that support a collective goal (el coro*). Today your field of view is not just about what you can see with your vision, and more like a panoptic vision. El coro* is defined as the necessity of working with friends or a group of people with a common goal. Every ordinary person wants to belong to and extraordinary team, for flexibility of space considers adaptation as a characteristic that the user has on its back.
Limited-Unlimited
Imagine putting a balloon inside a square cage. The balloon either explodes or slowly loses its air. The human being is synonym to liberty, antonym to immobility, and translated in basic terms: i-n-d-e-p-e-n-d-e-n-t , not because adulthood, but because its free of prejudice, race, color, or any sort of label.
Architecture consists in studying what is the user, so that something is done for each user, it’s the what, not the how.
El coro*: a word commonly used for social gathering of friends, is ddescribed also in a professional setting, since now a days it has become to associate a work-life balance.
